Hi, I’m
Anna
Master of
Counselling PSYCHOLOGY
Why choose Anna?
Training
Anna-Grett (Anna to most) holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, following six years of university training.
Family
With a psychiatrist father and a teacher mother, Anna’s path into psychology felt almost inevitable. From her father came a deep respect for listening and understanding people, and from her mother, the ability to explain things clearly – something she now brings to life in sessions using her signature glass whiteboard.
Practice
Since graduating in 2000, Anna has worked in private practice, building strong, trusted relationships with both her clients and local GPs.
ADHD
Now in what she describes as her ‘blossoming maturity’ (I am not old…yet!!), and after her own late diagnosis (best thing that ever happened to me), Anna focuses on working with adults aged 21 and over, particularly women navigating ADHD.
Connection
Her natural ability to connect with people was recognised by Michael Grinder (author and world-renowned non-verbal communication expert), who once described Anna as “the kindest person in the room, and only as happy as the saddest person in the room.” That insight captures the empathy she brings into every session.
Therapy
Anna’s approach is to gently remove those barriers, creating a space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and able to talk openly about their experiences. She knows that everyone has their own ‘brand’ of ADHD.
Your couch in . . . Anna’s Happy Place
The Lighter Side
When people sit upon my couch
Their life’s story to relay
Of anxiety and depression
Grief and loss, or just dismay
There often comes a moment
When laughter lightens up the past
Sometimes through tears and broken words
The funny side of life is cast
When a serious recollection
In words just comes out wrong
We laugh at our own creation
A quick escape from life’s dark song
Then together we can sit and smile
At sad and silliness instead
Not take away from it’s importance
Or significance in our heads
But create a little distance
Shine light on the things we hide
Gain a different perspective
When we see the lighter side
